Stripe Onboarding
Tuter uses Stripe (one of the largest payment processors in the world) to process payments made by students. When a tutoring session is completed, Stripe will charge the student according to the duration of the session and the tutor’s hourly rate. Stripe will then deposit the funds (minus service fees) into the tutor’s bank account after a processing period of 7 business days.
Both Stripe and Tuter will deduct a combined total of 15% from the total payment amount prior to the funds being deposited into the tutor’s bank account. This service fee is used to cover operating costs. Tutors keep 85% of the total payment amount.
The information you enter into the Stripe forms (shown below) is sent directly to Stripe via a secure, encrypted communication channel (https) and is not viewable by Tuter. Stripe requires your bank account information in order to deposit funds into your account upon the completion of a tutoring session. By completing the Stipe onboarding process, you will be creating an account with Stripe, which you can use to manage your payment status and history. The banking information required by Stripe is the same information contained on the front of a personal check.
The Tuter app provides an opportunity to advertise your tutoring services and manage your payments in one central platform. By joining the Tuter platform you are doing so as an individual and are not entering into an employment agreement with Tuter.
